Waiting for parts…. hack something else!

So I’m still waiting on the final parts for my CNC machine I took my hacking time this weekend and put together my own Rootooth. I bought the bluesmirf silver, a voltage regulator (and associated caps) and a cable to hack from http://www.sparkfun.com/.

I used the schematic from the website below (from 2006, but hey schematics don’t age) and got it up and running pretty quick. I then used an Android app (free) that paired with my DIY-Tooth and was running my bot around the house. Went way way faster than my attempt to control my roomba using IR pulses and my arduino, couldn’t get the codes right or something. Had to get a little creative to figure out the pinout on the cable as my multimeter’s batteries quit on me and replacements cost as much as the darn thing was worth when I bought it.
